Robert Jones is currently writing a book on Emile Durkheim's philosophy of science, with particular emphasis on German influences. He will follow this with further work on Durkheim's sociology of religion, particularly his relationship to British ethnographers and historians of religion. His parallel interests include the historiography of the social sciences and hypertext and hypermedia. In addition to being a 1974 Fellow in the Center for Advanced Study, UIUC, he has received numerous teaching awards from the college and campus. He has also received national and private foundation recognition. In 1988 he founded and administered the nationally recognized LAS Hypermedia Laboratory. He is Director of the Advanced Information Technologies Laboratory. He is currently Editor of Durkheim Studies/Etudes durkheimiennes which supports an international readership.
